		<description>It&#039;s an interesting premise and one that has been discussed as long as I can remember.

I think as long as people are living in the gray zone between do something and do nothing, it will persist.

There just seems to be a lack of innovation brought about by people not willing to take a chance and go beyond their comfort zone.

Change does not come easily to us humans</description>

This is a brilliant summary. Unfortunately, many projects are funded and executed based on ease of reporting results (such as we spent $20M and saved 20% of license cost). That is very different mindset than achieving results (such as recognize that we wasted $20M and could have put them into advertizement, R&amp;D, or dividents).

Large ERP vendors provide very good tools that certainly have its place in a company.  The problem arises when these companies try to cover every aspect of operations of every company in the world forcing the same process.
